Overview
Joining the Taipans from Illawarra, Luca begins the first of three seasons in the Far North.
Signing with the Hawks after spending time at the Australian Institute of Sport and NBA Academy, the Townsville product has developed over his time in the NBL to prove himself as a name in the league.
Winning a championship in 2025 and earning his first career start last season, Yates has also found success at the state league level after winning the NBL1 North in 2024 with Mackay, and is currently making a strong post-season push with the Cairns Marlins.
