Game days for the Kenfrost Homes Cairns Taipans are a highlight on the Far North Queensland calendar from September – February every year and have been voted amongst the best game day product in the NBL.
Offering the only national competition in Cairns, the family-friendly Taipans game days offer pre-game entertainment, competitive prices and the opportunity to meet the sporting stars at every single match.
OPENING, TIP-OFF TIMES AND PARKING
- The concourse of the Cairns Convention Centre will open 1hr 30mins prior to tip-off time, with the door to the court opening 45mins before tip-off. To ensure you don’t miss any of the pregame entertainment, we recommend being in your seats half an hour prior to tip-off.
- Bag checks will be implemented by Cairns Convention Centre Security upon entry. Patrons are encouraged to avoid bringing a bag no larger than 30cm x 30 cm to home games to ensure easy and fast access to games. For more information on the Venue's Conditions of Entry, click here.
- There is no parking available at the Cairns Convention Centre. Please visit Translink for public transport options. Parking is available throughout the CBD, and free after 6:00pm in most areas. See Cairns Regional Council for more.
- Tickets are available to purchase online only; no tickets are sold at the Cairns Convention Centre. If you have any issues with your tickets prior to tip off please see the staff at the Box Office.

INSIDE THE STADIUM
- Taipans merchandise is available at every game, located outside Doors 22 & 24.
- Food and beverage outlets are located throughout the venue. All outlets are card only, no cash accepted.
GAME NIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
- Meet two-time NBL All-Star mascot, Joe Blake, with the fan favourite roaming the stadium before the game.
- Only NBL mascot to have been called up to the All-Star game twice.
- Favourite food is Hawk sandwiches with Violet Crumble for dessert. Also partial to a Wildcat for a snack on the run. Prefers Crocodile burgers but they don't make them any more.
- Still has no idea what exactly a 36er is... or a JackJumper...
- Performances by the IFYS Taipans Cheer Squad and the Annees Mini Squad.
- Half-time entertainment including crowd competitions and performances.
- Big screen activations, make sure you stand out in the crowd to get on camera!
POST-GAME FUNCTION: Reef Hotel Casino
- Don't miss your opportunity to rub shoulders with the team after Taipans home games, at the Reef Hotel's Casino official post-game after party!
- Join the players and coaches post-game, where our Head Coach will name his game MVP and give away his Coaches Award.
- Held after select home games upstairs of the Reef Hotel Casino in the Sports Arena.

HUNGRY JACK’S OFFER: Free Cheeseburgers
At Taipans games, if the AWAY team misses two consecutive free-throw shots in a single penalty, fans get a free cheeseburger at Hungry Jacks. The shots must be two consecutive missed free-throws, so GET LOUD in the crowd to distract them!!
- The fans in attendance win one free cheese burger at Hungry Jack’s.
- Fans must enter the codeword in the NBL app.
