Overview

Returning to the NBL after spending the 2024-25 season with the Houston Rockets and their G League affiliate the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, McVeigh makes the move to Cairns for his seventh year in the league.

After his time with the University of Nebraska, the forward made his debut with Adelaide in 2018 and scored over 500 points during his time as a 36er, and in the process became one of the most accurate shooters in their lineup.

Spending three seasons with the club, the next move for McVeigh was to join the inaugural Tasmanian team, where he slotted straight into the lineup to contribute 14.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, whilst playing a pivotal role in their push for a championship.

Helping the JackJumpers reach the Grand Finals in their first season, he led the side when they returned in 2023-24 and was named Finals MVP, and was rewarded shortly after by representing his country at the 2024 Paris Olympics and a contract with the Houston Rockets.

After appearing for the franchise nine times and 35 times with their G League affiliate, the 29-year-old has now returned to Australia after signing with the Taipans for the 2025-26 season.
