Jack McVeigh has been recognised among the league’s elite, earning All-NBL Second Team honours at the 2026 Andrew Gaze MVP Awards on Monday night.
McVeigh was a dominant force for the Taipans, averaging 21.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists while shooting 49.9 per cent from the field, 36.5 per cent from three and 87.5 per cent from the free throw line this season.
It marks the second time McVeigh has been named in the All-NBL Second Team, after previously earning selection at the end of the 2023-24 season with the Tasmania JackJumpers.

The honour caps a huge finish to the season for the Boomers representative, who was also named the Taipans’ Club MVP and Members’ Choice MVP at last week’s 2025-26 season awards after a standout first campaign in orange.
The marquee man is also set to remain in Cairns, with the club and McVeigh both agreeing to the mutual option on his contract for a second season.
McVeigh initially joined the Taipans on a two-year agreement featuring a second-year mutual option, arriving in Far North Queensland after a season in the NBA with the Houston Rockets and G League affiliate Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
