The Kenfrost Homes Cairns Taipans have been dealt with another season-ending injury blow, with guard Mawot Mag ruled out for the remainder of NBL26.
A recent MRI has revealed a stress fracture on his right foot, and he will be required to wear a boot for the next four weeks. The recovery has an estimated four-month timeline.
Mag joins Alex Higgins-Titsha (wrist) on the sidelines for the rest of the season, while Reyne Smith (foot) is currently scheduled for a return on January 30 in Round 19.
Mag will be replaced by Taipans development player Lloyd McVeigh, while Lachlan Barker continues to replace Smith. Mojave King remains on the roster for Higgins-Titsha.
The Taipans host the Bullets tomorrow night at the Cairns Convention Centre for the rescheduled Round 16 fixture.
