The Kenfrost Homes Cairns Taipans will be without guard Reyne Smith (foot) until January 30.
Smith continues to recover from a plantar fascia tear with his return-to-play timeline now pushed back to Round 19, and development player Lloyd McVeigh will be elevated for both games in Round 15.
Gritty defender Lachlan Barker will miss the next two matches (against the South East Melbourne Phoenix and the Illawarra Hawks) for his wedding, but will rejoin the team in Melbourne and replace Smith from Round 16 onwards.
Alex Higgins-Titsha (wrist) remains out for the season.
