UPDATE: Jack McVeigh has also not made the Round 11 road trip, as he awaits the birth of his child.
The Kenfrost Homes Cairns Taipans continue to be depleted following the FIBA break, with neither Sam Waardenburg or Reyne Smith making the road trip to Illawarra.
Waardenburg (ankle) was expected to return this round, however he will now make his season debut next weekend at the Cairns Convention Centre against Tasmania.
Smith (foot) continues to recover from a plantar fascia tear. His return-to-play timeline has now been pushed back to Round 15 on New Year’s Eve, with development player Lloyd McVeigh elevated in Smith’s absence.
Meanwhile, Kody Stattmann has been sidelined since tearing his right hamstring prior to the Round 6 meeting with Melbourne, but the 25-year-old will return to the line-up. Kyle Adnam will also be back in action, after recovering from a hyperextended knee.
Alex Higgins-Titsha (wrist) remains out for the season.
