STATEMENT FROM THE NBL
Next Monday’s scheduled game between the CQUniversity Cairns Taipans and Melbourne United that was to be played at the Cairns Pop-Up Arena will now be played at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney at 7:30pm AEST without fans in attendance.
NBL Commissioner Jeremy Loeliger said: “Based on current state border controls, moving this game to Sydney offers the best pathway to. complete our regular season schedule, and we thank Melbourne United and the Cairns Taipans for their flexibility and understanding during very trying circumstances.
“The health and safety of our players, coaches, referees, staff and fans remains our number one priority and, as always, our decisions will be guided. by the advice of each State Government and relevant health authorities.”
