Ahead of the 2024-25 NBL season, the Cairns Taipans are pleased to announce Kenfrost Homes and Residential Estates as the club’s new naming rights sponsor. The award-winning land developer and home builder have supported the Taipans for over a decade, evolving from major sponsor to platinum partner, before signing the milestone naming rights sponsorship.
Kenfrost Homes lead the way in offering affordable homes across multiple estates throughout Far North Queensland and have sponsored the community-owned basketball club since 2014.
The local Cairns business began as a civil engineering company at the tip of Queensland and progressed into developing land for residential housing.
Now, they offer complete house and land packages set in idyllic locations, and their support of the Taipans has grown year-on-year, alongside the growth of their business.
Taipans CEO Mark Beecroft said that the evolution of the partnership to naming rights sponsor could not have been timed any better - a celebration of 10 years of partnership:
“Kenfrost Homes is one of the largest residential builders in the region and we are very proud to have them as our new naming rights partner.
“They solely build within our small regional city and their ongoing support of our community-owned team truly demonstrates their commitment to the club and Cairns at large,” he said.
“They have such a significant footprint across FNQ and we love that we get to represent them further."

Kenfrost Homes Marketing Coordinator Alex Loughton echoed Mr. Beecroft’s sentiments:
“We have been proud supporters of the Taipans for many years and understand the importance of Cairns’ only sporting team competing on the national stage and the resulting economic impact on tourism and local hospitality venues on game nights.
“The team is also a beacon of light for kids in the region to look up to their stars and aspire to healthy active life choices through participation of this great game of basketball.
“We are thrilled to now elevate our support to naming rights and throw our full support behind Coach Forde and the club. We look forward to celebrating success in the community and on the court.”
The Kenfrost Homes Cairns Taipans’ season begins on 21 September at HoopsFest in Perth, before hosting their first home game at the Cairns Convention Centre on 28 September 2024.
