Thank you, Orange Army!

The Kenfrost Homes Cairns Taipans would like to thank everyone who attended the Town Hall yesterday at the Pullman Cairns International hotel.
The Club would also like to acknowledge the NBL executives that joined us and were so gracious with their time to meet with our community, with a special mention to Peter O’Connor (Taipans lawyer) who hosted this new event.
President Troy Stone led the evening, addressing a range of topics up front and providing meaningful insights into the Club’s current status, existing challenges and exciting opportunities. His discussions included ownership / privatisation, coach and player retention, community engagement and potential events for Cairns in the future.
NBL Group CEO Dave Stevenson was brilliant in his presentation and very generous with his information sharing – providing great context from the league’s perspective. He recognised the Club’s strength across the competition, the Board’s leadership and how well the Taipans continue to perform across the NBL’s various benchmarking.
Thank you to the Orange Army that attended and asked a question, raised a concern, or provided feedback – this has been a valuable exercise for the Club, and we are so pleased with the constructive conversations on the night and positive responses we have since received.
We hope that the evening provided sufficient context into where the Club is positioned, and where it hopes to go. We will share more content from the Town Hall next week, and the Cairns Taipans will continue to find avenues to get more direct, considered feedback from our fans in the future.
