CQUniversity Cairns Taipans point guard Patrick Miller will miss Round 6 due to the back injury he sustained in the home game against the Sydney Kings. He has been diagnosed with a soft tissue injury but is likely for next week’s game against the Hawks on Saturday 11 November.
Lachlan Anderson is also experiencing back soreness and will sit out during Round 6. His current return-to-play date is Saturday 18 November in Round 8.
Taipans development players Alex Mudronja and Kian Dennis will both suit up as replacements. Mudronja has travelled to New Zealand to replace Miller, while Kian Dennis will meet the team in Melbourne for the game against South East.
Guards Tahjere McCall and Taran Armstrong will return to the line-up, with Armstrong expected to make his NBL debut tomorrow night in New Zealand.
The Taipans play a road double-header this weekend, facing the Breakers for the club's first game in Christchurch before taking on the Phoenix.
