Kenfrost Homes Cairns Taipans forward Sam Waardenburg has been ruled out with a hand injury, adding to the team’s ongoing injury woes for the 2024-25 NBL season.
Waardenburg strained a ligament in his thumb during last weekend’s double header, and will miss the next two rounds. It is hopeful he will return for the Boxing Day clash in Round 14.
The 25-year-old is averaging 15.3 points and 7.0 rebounds and will be a notable loss in tomorrow’s fixture, joining AK Gak (knee) on the sidelines.
Dillon Stith will also miss tomorrow’s game against Perth and is currently scheduled for an MRI after hurting his knee at training.
