CQUniversity Cairns Taipans point guard Scott Machado has been ruled out for 4-6 weeks, following an injury sustained on Saturday night at the Cairns Convention Centre. Machado hurt his heel in the first quarter against Tasmania and as a precaution, he was rested for the remainder of the game.
However, further scans have revealed an irritation to the base of his Achilles tendon and he has been advised that a period of rest and rehabilitation is necessary for a full recovery.
The Taipans are hopeful to have Machado return to the line-up by the end of next month
