NBA star confirmed for HoopsFest 2027

The Kenfrost Homes Cairns Taipans will be playing in front of a four-time NBA All-Star and Olympic gold medallist at HoopsFest 2027, with the NBL revealing DeMarcus Cousins as the NBA Ambassador for the event.

As the Taipans hit the court at RAC Arena on opening night, Cousins will be seated court side for NBL and WNBL fixtures, while also making appearances at event sides across the week, including at Sneakerland and the free Bounce Nation Fan Zone.

"I am excited to get back to Australia and experience all Perth has to offer, after receiving such a warm welcome on my last visit," Cousins said.

"Western Australia is meant to be incredible in January, and it’s a dream to finally experience it first-hand."

"I want to explore the beaches, head over to Rottnest Island and hopefully meet a quokka, and try a glass of Margaret River’s incredible wine, all while watching some amazing games with the fans. Can’t wait to see you there."
