Glasgow lies ahead for Forde

Fresh off his time at the 3x3 World Cup, Adam Forde is preparing to lead the Australian Gangurrus into action at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

The Head Coach of the Kenfrost Homes Cairns Taipans will fly into Scotland shortly as Australia prepares to enter their second Commonwealth Games with a 3x3 side, after the format debuted in 2022.

Earning silver that year with a host of NBL names in their lineup, Forde has opted to retain the talent that delivered their last medal with Jesse Wagstaff stepping back onto the half-court for the first time since Birmingham 2022.

Building around the experience of Wagstaff, Forde has also recruited former-Taipan Jonah Antonio alongside Sam McDaniel and Jarred Bairstow.

First competing in the format in 2025, Antonio has become a key piece of Forde’s lineups since he took over the Gangurrus last year, with the guards sharpshooting abilities helping swing the momentum in games.

Also preparing to compete in Scotland, both McDaniel and Bairstow have joined the format this year with Forde looking to increase the depth of his squad.

The action will tip-off in Glasgow from the 24th of July with games available on the Seven Network. The Gangurrus schedule will be revealed closer to the event.
