After taking away bronze at the inaugural FIBA 3x3 Champions Cup, the Taipans led Australian Gangurrus return to action tonight for the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup in Singapore.
Looking to defend their 2024 title, the Gangurrus have rolled out Alex Higgins-Titsha, Dillon Stith and Jonah Antonio with Adam Forde at the helm again, whilst JackJumpers development player Lachlan Barker has subbed in for Josh Davey.
Falling in 2023 to Mongolia 21-18, Australia has typically dominated the tournament with their only other defeat coming in 2017 during their first trip to the Asia Cup – also won by the Mongolians.
As reigning champions, the Gangurrus have bypassed the qualifying draw with both Japan and Iran awaiting them in Pool C, with the two top teams advancing to the quarter-finals.
They’ll hit the court at 6:10pm AEST tonight to face Iran, before returning at 9:20pm to battle against Japan in their final pool game.
Catch all the action live on the FIBA 3x3 YouTube channel.
