The CQUniversity Cairns Taipans announce that Saturday’s game against Melbourne United will be rescheduled, due to league health and safety protocols.
The Taipans have received further positive test results from the team and in addition to state government requirements regarding close contacts, they do not satisfy the minimum number of players required to suit up.
The decision was made this afternoon and follows two home games being postponed (January 8 and 11) last week. While there will be other games in the league progressing ahead, the Round 7 NBL schedule has also changed in response to the advice of governments and health authorities.
The Taipans will play their next home game at the Cairns Convention Centre on Sunday 23 January against the Brisbane Bullets, 2:00pm AEST.
