Kenfrost Homes Cairns Taipans boom recruit Jaylin Gallowaywill make is long-awaited return to the NBL against New Zealand Breakers onSunday.

The 198cm swingman will make his debut in Taipans coloursafter making the off-season switch from the Sydney Kings.

Galloway has missed the first eight games of Cairns’campaign with a shoulder injury which required surgery after he won his thirdchampionship with the Kings in March.

“I signed with Cairns because I wanted a bigger role andopportunity," Galloway said.

"I also wanted to play alongside Kyrin, who I haven'tplayed with since 2023 at an NBL1 level with Ipswich, when we won the title.”

Kyrin said there is no battle between him and his youngerbrother laughed about playing alongside him for the first time in the bigleague.

“There wasn’t really any competition when we weren’t on thesame team, and now we are on the same team, I’m just the ultimate teammate, sothere will not be any competition from my side,” Kyrin said this week.

“It’s already been decided, everyone comes and tells me I’mthe better brother, ask anyone around here, they will tell you.”

The 23-year-old again reconnects with Head Coach Adam Forde, who signed him to his first professional contract back in 2020 in Sydney.

"I'm excited to play for Fordey, who gave me my first professional contract,” Jaylin said.

He also revealed to CODE Sports that’s he has already been impressed with the Orange Army after the first two home games.

“I feel like the fans are more into it in Cairns than in Sydney… I feel like the Taipans fans are actually there to watch, not just to be there.”
