Cairns Pre-Season game confirmed

The Kenfrost Homes Cairns Taipans have locked-in a home pre-season fixture, with the Club hosting the St Mary’s Gaels at Trinity Ford Stadium on Wednesday 19 August.

Tipping-off at 6:30pm, the matchup will be Cairns’ first chance to see the new-look Taipans before they hit the road for their busy pre-season schedule.

Starting their preparations for the 2026-27 season against the NCAA Division 1 side, they’ll then travel east to face the Perth Wildcats in Karratha before touching down in Victoria for games against both Melbourne lineups.

Cairns will then face the Wildcats for a second time and then the Adelaide 36ers at the NBL Blitz in Bendigo, before closing their pre-season against the Brisbane Bullets on the Sunshine Coast.

For St Mary’s, it wraps up their Australian tour with the college team facing multiple other NBL clubs, with their final destination in the Far North.

Last visiting Australia in 2022, the Gaels were able to defeat both Melbourne United and the South East Melbourne Phoenix in back-to-back nights, with their lineup featuring Alex Ducas, Harry Wessels and Kyle Bowen.
