Armstrong leads the Warriors in Vegas

As the basketball world rolled into Las Vegas for the 2025 NBA Summer League, a series of Taipans took to the court for the annual event.

Continuing his stint with the Golden State Warriors, Taran Armstrong once more lined up with the NBA franchise, where he was joined by Alex Higgins-Titsha after the forward impressed at a mini camp in the lead up to the tournament.

Before their trip to Nevada, the Warriors’ first battles came on their home court in San Francisco for the California Classic, with only Armstrong making an appearance after Higgins-Titsha rolled his ankle during training.

Hitting the court twice across their three games at the Chase Centre, the former-Taipan led all 63 players who hit the court for assists with an average of 6.5 per outing, with the guard also contributing six points and 1.5 boards per game.

Warriors Summer League Head Coach Lainn Wilson:

“Their pressure was really good and kind of disruptive, and I thought that he ended up handling it pretty well, and kind of being physical right back.”

Wrapping up their preparation for Las Vegas with seven assists and two steals against Miami, Armstrong had now cemented himself in the side’s starting lineup ahead of their five-game stint in Nevada.

First hitting the court to face Portland, the former-Taipan immediately impressed with a 10 point, seven assist, four steal and three rebound performance in 25 minutes of action.

Backing it up with nine points, seven rebounds and three assists in the Warriors win against the Jazz, Armstrong was rested for their third game before his final appearance facing Toronto where he showcased his exterior shooting with every point he scored coming from range.

Whilst the guard didn’t hit the court for their final game of the event, it was Higgins-Titsha’s chance to shine as he made his debut against Cleveland.

Appearing for 16 minutes, the forward put up six points with three boards and an assist in their win, with his former teammate supporting him from the bench.

Wrapping up his international journey from Australia to Mongolia and then the United States, Higgins-Titsha will now make his way back home ahead of the 2025-26 NBL season.

Also in action in Las Vegas was Bobi Klintman, with the 2024 draft pick hitting the court in every game for the Detroit Pistons, where he reached highs of 20 points and 12 rebounds across their five games.
