Kenfrost Homes Cairns Taipans guard Lloyd McVeigh will return to the team in the 2026-27 season, joining Luca Yates on the development player list.
The younger brother of Jack McVeigh hit the Cairns court 10 times last season and has since enjoyed another successful NBL1 campaign with South Adelaide.
Heading into the NBL1 Central Grand Final this weekend, McVeigh has averaged 23.2 points, 8.5 boards and 2.6 assists in his second stint with the Panthers.
The 22-year-old is currently ranked third in the conference for scoring, boasting a season-high 36 points against the Eastern Mavericks and 30 points against the Forestville Eagles in the recent semi-final.
On Saturday night, the Panthers will play in their third Grand Final in the past five years, as McVeigh helps them chase their first championship since 2022.
The University of Buffalo alum has also previously played for the Gold Coast Rollers and North Gold Coast Seahawks.
