THE Skytrans Cairns Taipans is pleased to announced locally-owned and operated business Raging Thunder has thrown its support behind the club’s current season ticket drive.

Raging Thunder is offering a ‘Fitzroy Island Ferries’ island ferry transfer return ticket for all people who pledge to purchase Fast Break season tickets for the 2010 season.

This follows the exciting news earlier this week that Reef Magic Cruises would provide an outer barrier reef trip to Platinum and Gold season ticket pledges.

To allow the ‘100% Community’ Skytrans Cairns Taipans to continue in the NBL next season, the club is urging fans to show an expression of interest now to purchase season tickets for next year.  Season ticket responses are currently being sort before Friday, December 18 to allow the club enough time to prepare its submission to the league.  The NBL Expression of Interest (EOI) to Basketball Australia is due on or before December 24.

Skytrans Taipans General Manager Mark Beecroft said Raging Thunder’s offer meant anyone pledging to buy a season ticket for next year would get terrific value for their money.

"Raging Thunder's support of the team provides season ticket holders a value-add never seen before for the club,’’ Beecroft said.

“Platinum, Gold and now Fast Break season ticket pledges will not only get a great chance to experience a minimum of 14 home games, but also experience some of the terrific tourism opportunities thanks to Raging Thunder and Reef Magic Cruises.”

“We continue to look for business opportunities within the community that well help sustain the club into the future.”

“The support by Raging Thunder now completes a fantastic offer for all season ticket pledges for next season.”

Raging Thunder Sales Director Peta Zietsch said the company was thrilled to be able to offer the incentive to fans who pledge to buy Fast Break season ticket.

“As Fitzroy Island is considered to be the locals’ island, the offering of complimentary day trips seemed a logical way of supporting our local and national team, the Skytrans Cairns Taipans,” she said.

“Raging Thunder is happy to be involved and encourages the community to support this initiative to keep the Taipans going strong.”

Beecroft  reiterated the club did not need people to actually pay for the tickets at this time, but just register their names with the club with their commitment to purchase before the season begins in September next year, with payment plans on offer beginning in April, 2010.
